Finding Your Purpose, from Cocoon to Butterfly

The old has gone, the new has come.

Would you stay in the cocoon, then,
and ignore the call to emerge whole
and beautiful?

Or, would you, with God-given wings
spread His color and purpose to the garden
He's led you to?

When the Spirit bids you come,
don't stay cocooned in a stage
intended only for growth.

Seize your moment in time,
leave the suffocating shell behind,
and fly, butterfly, fly.

Make me new, I pray . . . morphed into your creation. From awkward, misshapen caterpillar, to butterfly. Lifting off on wings I did not provide, as gusts of air send me up and out to destinations unknown.

Led by Your Spirit, I look for Your hand to land me somewhere safe and good. I draw on the nectar of Your Word for sustenance. This short, poignant life, I designate for Your perennial garden.

I am one of many . . . butterflies.

..........
Help us, Lord, to let the old drop away and to put on the new. We want to fulfill Your purposes for our lives.
