Welcome to Beside Quiet Waters.

A little bit about me …

I’ve been married to my loving husband for 40 years. We have two grown sons, two lovely daughters-in-law, and two amazing grandchildren.

I love spending time with my family, as well as finding a book I can’t put down. I enjoy long walks, snapping photos, and all things writing.

I currently provide blog content for Humble Faith Ministries where I serve as the Discipleship Coordinator. Formerly, I worked as a writer in the communications department of my church where I provided content and editing for media, print marketing, in-house signage, emails, blog, etc.

If you listen to Salem Media’s The Word radio stations, you’ll hear promos I’ve written, which are voiced by my husband. I’ve enjoyed writing for Salem Media for over seven years.

As doors open to write, I continue to walk through them in anticipation of the next cool thing.

That’s enough about me. A sincere thanks to you for dropping by Beside Quiet Waters.

“The Teacher searched to find just the right words, and what he wrote was upright and true.” Ecclesiastes 12:10

Thanks for reading my blog today! It sounds as though we have a lot in common: career moms and an interest in people and their ministries. I am starting a new venture to help cancer patients. I am calling it HopeBooks by Connie. It is simply a notebook with tabs to collect papers created by the chaos of cancer/treatment plus poems and scripture that offer hope and healing. I’m excited about it! May God bless your day. Connie

    Hi Patty,
The title of your blog drew me in – beside still waters! Where I live in Australia we have just had floods and the waters were anything but still! In the midst of the turbulence, Jesus is our inner peace… our still waters. Thanks for sharing through this site. God bless

Thank you for liking my candlequill blog! I appreciate the feedback! It looks like we have a few things in common – aside from the kids (my kids are albums and books), I’m a full time housewife & writer. 🙂 Not to mention the same Father! Are you familiar with the One Year Life Verse Devotional by Tyndale? I have an article in that book… I wasn’t aware of the one you mentioned, the One Year Bible, by the same publisher. Small world!
    Blessings

Appreciate your dropping by! I’m not familiar with that book, but will have to look for it…and for your article! Glad to connect with a published author:) I highly recommend the One Year Bible…my husband and I have been reading through it for years now. It really works. Blessings to you!

What an honor to be nominated for this award. However, I’m going to have to decline…trying to keep things simple. Just visited your site and I would recommend it! Again, thank you for the kind nomination.

I know what you mean about simple – I’ve got quite a few projects on myself at the moment, but the nomination is a good way to network, so your blog will stay on the list whether or not you can pursue it any further. Feel free to re-blog something from my blog if you’d like!

I’m the girl who came by your house the other day with Christian literature. You helped me with a wonderful donation towards my Christian education. I didn’t realize you were a teacher. I am graduating in December with my B.A. in Elementary Education. Thank you for helping me get closer to my dreams and sharing this ministry with me! 🙂

I appreciate your taking the time to check out Beside Quiet Waters. I enjoyed meeting you and pray God’s guidance for your future. I got my elem. certification, subbed, then my oldest came along and I didn’t return to the classroom. I respect those who teach! My children have had wonderful teachers and I’m so thankful. Have a wonderful summer:)

Oh…you are so kind and thank you so much! It means a lot for you to nominate me. I am trying to keep blogging simple, so I’ll have to pass because I’m not very good at doing the requirements! So, please feel free to pass my spot on to someone else. Meanwhile, I will continue to enjoy your blog and I hope you’ll come visit here often. Again, thank you!

    Patty,

Could I email you privately? I have an idea of letting you use any of my photos that the Lord inspires. But would prefer to discuss it via emails. I’m not a professional photographer; however, want God to make the most out of my pictures if it is in a way that honors Him.

I don’t spam people. I should have your email with the subscription from 2013ish when we started following each other. Blessings.
