“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” Isaiah 43:2
Flood waters are going to come. Rivers will rush through uninvited and unpredicted fires will burn. It’s the way of life.
Rather than elements of nature, it could be tough life issues we face. As much as we’d like to avoid the unexpected, sometimes there’s no way around it. The only thing to do is walk through.
We have one who walks through trials with us. He might teach us to swim through rough waters. We may learn to cling to the lifesaver during the flood. The heat might get uncomfortably hot—yet we’re changed for the better.
…..
When rivers gush fast
And floods wreak havoc
When fires claim what was mine.
There’s one who walks with me
He fights battles for me
Mighty warrior, strong at my side.
…..
“But the Lord is with me like a mighty warrior…” Jeremiah 20:11
“You will not have to fight this battle…Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.” II Chronicles 20:17

Patty, thank you for the reminder He fights for us. Lovely post. I felt my shoulders relax as I read this—I need to remember He’s right here—right now—and always.
