Like a yo-yo

image It’s as if there’s an invisible string running from the hand to the heart. Keep the focus on God and the string is loose. The hand is free to stay open and contents freely given.

However, turn the focus to the contents of the hand and the string pulls taut. It’s  like a yo-yo retracting—causing the hand to clasp shut. It takes a God focused heart to keep the hand open. To be free to let the contents go—for kingdom purposes.

Maybe the hand holds material wealth, gifts or talents. The trick is to keep eyes on God, hands open and contents…free to spill.

Psalm 62:5 “Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him.”*

Psalm 62:10 “…though your riches increase, do not set you heart on them.”*
