Rend your heart

Joel 2:13 “Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love…”*

If the heart is rent—torn by life—entrust the brokenness to the Lord. Let him bring a new heart. New dreams. Let heartache do its growing work of fertilizing new life.

He desires inner change rather than an outward show.

Rent heart

be not discouraged

though severed dreams lay weeping at soul’s feet,

ready to be buried and sprout new

dreams, blooming

and whole.
