Deuteronomy 33:12 “…Let the beloved of the Lord rest secure in him, for he shields him all day long, and the one the Lord loves rests between his shoulders.” (NIV)*
Deuteronomy 33:27 “The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms…” (NIV)*
He is a place of protection. He is a shield, refuge, and resting place. Nestled there we are surrounded by his care. Looking up and out is scary if unaware that underneath are the everlasting arms. Like tree branches supporting a nest, so too his arms hold our very souls.
Securely nestled in his care
Held by everlasting arms.
Eternal love beats loud and strong
When close to God’s own heart.
.……………….
Sheltered from flaming arrows
A shield for weary souls.
Protected from enemy aim
When covered with God’s cloak.
………………..
Undergirded by his strength
His beloved he’ll not forsake.
Held secure through circumstance
When clasped in God’s arms, safe.

Deuteronomy 33 is the blessing Moses gave the Israelites. Verse 12 was directed toward Benjamin and verse 27 for Asher. These blessings show the character and heart of God toward those he loves…Oh, that I could grasp it!

Thank you…God is good. And wouldn’t it be grand to be wrapped in the folds of His cloak…in a sense…we are:)
