Life Giving Words

Deuteronomy 32:47 “They are not just idle words for you–they are your life. By them you will live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess.” (NIV)*

When the Israelites crossed the Jordan, God wanted them to possess the land…own it and make it home. He gave them life-giving words to take with them. By following his word, they would live long in the land.

When one enters the land of faith, it is to be fully possessed. God’s word gives life. It is more than useless filler; his word gives life-giving nourishment.

Have you crossed the Jordan and entered the land of faith? If so, are you possessing the land or merely living in it? Are you living in someone else’s faith or has it become your own?

Take possession of your faith by possessing the word. Read the Bible and underline special passages. Date them. Memorize them. Write out prayers in the margins and highlight promises. Make it your own…held in your hands, believed in your heart, and lived out in your life.

There’s land waiting to be had

On Jordan’s other side

Take his words and carry close

His word will be your guide.

………………..

Settle in the land of promise

By keeping his words near

Faith possessed and fully yours

Words, priceless and dear.
