Rock Solid

Luke 6:47-48 “I will show you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice. He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built.” (NIV)*

Our Creator’s written word is a guide for life. The One who formed us knows what makes us strong. Applying what we learn from His Word builds our foundation solid for life.

If the manual is read, but set aside and forgotten, life will be built on shaky ground. Unsteady walls could be swept away by life’s torrents. He asks that we not only hear the Word, but live it.

The torrents will come. Those who build on the solid foundation of God’s Word will stand.

So then…read, study, listen, memorize, and put the words into practice. Let fear of storms subside. Life has been built on a rock solid foundation and will not be shaken.

And Lord, help me practice what I write…
