Exodus 16:4 “Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day.'” (NIV)*
Hungry children, come and see
God rained manna down.
Grab your baskets, grab your jars
Flakes, frosting the ground.
.……………….
God will provide each day
Bread, your life to sustain.
White like coriander, honey flavored
You’re going to like this rain.
………………..
Gather enough for a day
Leftovers breed maggots.
Remember, double up on day six–
God rests on the Sabbath.
………………..
Expect manna each morning
Until Canaan’s land you take.
Once settled it’s real bread
No need for manna flakes.
………………..
His Word, manna in the desert
Gathered daily, sustains the soul.
Bread of Life will satisfy
When Canaan finds me home.
