How to Walk Through Cobwebs

. . weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.

Rise, sun, and
displace the dark.
Reveal the cobwebs
threatening to stick to my skin.

I slash the sword of the Word at them, and
they disappear.
Stuck to my weapon of choice
they cling to it, defenseless.

The path opens ahead of me, bright and airy.
I join this new day,
Weapon in hand, and
no longer afraid.

The morning sun, rising, lights the dark. He reveals glistening cobwebs for what they are — lies that can be walked through with the help of His Word.

A head full of cobwebs can keep one from moving forward. It helps to walk with a long stick — the sword of the Word — to clear the path ahead.

Lord, thank You that I'm not defenseless. I have Your Word in my heart . . . and head. Remind me to use it. In Jesus' name, Amen.
