I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. Do not be like the horse or mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you.
— Psalm 32:8-9 (NIV)

Lord, don’t take Your loving eye from me
Let me hear your counsel — do find me listening.
To listen, stop the noise.
Take intentional time: Walks and extended
time in My Word. Hear from those
who’ve gone before you,
in life stage and maturity. Learn from them.
“Be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10 NIV).
Without being coerced or forced, I come to You willingly to listen . . . like one being taught.
“ . . . He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being instructed” (Isaiah 50:4 NIV).
Here I am, then, teach me.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
