Finding Daily Renewal in the Love, Mercy and Faithfulness of God

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. — Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV

Rise, the day is new.
The slate before you isn’t blank,
it’s blanketed with My love.

My mercies drip like honey
r
eady to soften every calloused sore.

All night, My faithfulness has been glowing —
the dark will never be complete darkness for you.

You’ll find your way when you walk by My light,
for I am with you, always —

a perpetual light in the room
.

Too much on the schedule wearies me and I run out of steam. I have to be refilled physically, spiritually and emotionally, in order to give to others.

My introvert self needs alone time. Time to read and meditate on the Word, as well as pray. I'm grateful that our Lord never runs out of love, mercy and faithfulness (Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV). Every day, His mercies are new. He doesn’t grow weary of hearing my complaints. He is always listening.

I may run down, but He continually gives and doesn't grow tired doing it. He carries an endless supply and is more than ready to refill my tank.

There’s never a day that we will wake up and not be wrapped in the faithfulness of God. 2 Timothy 2:13 says, "If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot disown Himself" (NIV). He cannot not be faithful. He will always be true to His character, and that character is faithfulness.

Despite what this day holds, despite failings and missteps, despite irritations and accusations — they wither away in the light of His mercy and grace. Withered weeds loose their grip.

With our focus on Christ, we can let it all go. Really.

Are you running on empty? Making the time to read the Bible and pray can give mental rest and help recharge you for the day. The book of Psalms is a wonderful place to begin. It's packed with heart-felt poetry and prayers. The book of John in the New Testament will connect you with the life and words of Jesus.

This for your day: His love never ceases. His mercies never come to an end. Every morning, they are new.
Lord, where else would I go? Who or what would I cling to? I place my hope in You, with sights set on Your matchless love, mercy and faithfulness. Thank You, thank You, thank You for being the perpetual light in my room. I need You . . . every day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
