Jacob, did you not see,

had self-deception blinded your eyes?

When seeds first fell from the mother plant,

Did you not catch the lies?

………………..

These seeds, when covered with dirt,

take root and down deep grow.

Hidden they sprout a conniving plot,

Your life they would overthrow.

………………..

Lord, help me catch the seeds,

Of lies threatening this life of mine.

Clouding my vision till I don’t see,

That I’m drinking, but dandelion wine.

………………..

Genesis 27:11-12 “Jacob said to Rebekah his mother, ‘But my brother Esau is a hairy man, and I’m a man with smooth skin. What if my father touches me? I would appear to be tricking him and would bring down a curse on myself rather than a blessing.'” (NIV)*
