Finding Refuge in the Shadow of His Wings

Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me, for in you I take refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed.
— Psalm 57:1 NIV

There is a place of refuge
a shelter from the rage
where arrows are deflected
and wounding words have no say.

A place of shade and solace
a nest of restoration sweet
a covering of wings from heaven
where healing reigns complete.

Rise up, my Lord, and take me
where thou doest aim to go
I've found a place to tarry
and I dare not ever let go.

I pray You find me taking refuge in the shadow of Your wings today. My Jesus, my Savior, my Lord, to You I give my everything. In Jesus' name, Amen.

When life is too much, we have a place of refuge. Our Lord is real. Our Lord is available. Psalm 46:1 says, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble” (NIV). Take these words to heart, dear one. You are loved.
