For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities — His eternal power and divine nature — have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. — Romans 1:20 NIV
If I couldn’t read His written words I would still hear the dove’s coo.
I would see the sunrise pinkish orange and touch the waking grass, wet with dew.
The trees would still stand stark and tall awaiting their marching orders,
as a cacophony of cicadas and birds competed for a seat, in the canopied orchestra.
Through ears and eyes created in His image, I would still have evidence of God,
even if holy verbiage wasn’t spilling out of books, and splattered all over the internet.
Outside my window and off the concrete sidewalk, God is everywhere. ..........
The knowledge of God can’t be taken away from us. It shouts from the tree tops, rises from the ground and pours with the rain. What a gift that we have His written Word. But if we didn’t, we could still know God through what He has made.
I feel close to God when I’m outside, walking in the midst of His creation. The miracle of it amazes me. A magnificent sunset or sunrise puts life into perspective. A hummingbird mesmerizes. A doe and fawn standing side by side display the elegance and graceful beauty of God's fountain pen.
Open your eyes and ears to see and hear what’s right there. Touch the wetted grass. Dip your feet into the chilly creek. Smell deeply the velvet rose. Real life is better than 3D; experience it while you can. God is everywhere — don't miss Him.
Lord, open our eyes and ears to see you in creation today. Let not the miracle of this day slip by unnoticed. What a glorious world You’ve given us to live in. Thank you.
