Aware of the schemes

Nehemiah 6:2 “…But they were scheming to harm me.” (NIV)*

Nehemiah was so focused on God’s purpose for him–to rebuild Jerusalem’s wall—that he recognized the enemy’s attacks as not part of the plan. He didn’t succumb. Rather, he took action to defend against the enemy while continuing the work.

And isn’t that half the battle–knowing it’s an attack of the enemy? Being aware of his schemes and not letting him intimidate?

Lord, let me see beyond the circumstance or diversion—to know when I’m being derailed from your plan. Help me be bold to speak against lies and take a stand for truth. Let me not be derailed, but continue with what God has given me to do. Amen and amen.
