One Voice Rising

Proverbs 1:20-21 “Wisdom calls aloud in the street, she raises her voice in the public squares at the head of the noisy streets…” (NIV)*

Proverbs 1:23 “If you had responded…I would have poured out my heart to you and made my thoughts known to you.” (NIV)*

A cacophony of noises would keep us ignorant of Him. Media screams loud–if not one form then another. The more subtle noises of discontent and prideful ambition beckon. It’s hard to get away.

But listen…do you hear it? There’s one voice rising above the din. Maybe it’s sunlight streaming in the wee hours of the morning, or trees with branches lifted high. Maybe it’s new fallen snow blanketing the world white and transforming our view of the landscape…all these gentle nudges to be still, and hear.

He will pour out His heart and make His thoughts known to me–if I but respond, to the one voice rising.
